What’s our story

Hi there,

We’re Fran and Scott, based in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and together we created this platform to make accessibility information easier to find.

In 2022, Scott experienced a catastrophic stroke, which left him with significant physical challenges. As a wheelchair user, he often requires Fran’s support to transfer when using public toilets. Our shared experiences — both as a disabled person and as a carer — have given us two very different perspectives on what makes an accessible toilet work.

Accessible toilet highlights across Pembrokeshire

Why a BogBlog?

For us, accessibility is not theoretical; it’s practical. We know the frustration of grab rails in the wrong place, sinks that are impossible to reach, or the stress of not knowing what facilities will be available when planning a day out. Too often, our choices about where to go are dictated not by the attractions or the food, but by whether we can trust the toilets to meet our needs.

Through this blog, we want to:

  • Share honest, practical reviews of accessible toilets.
  • Help families plan days out with confidence.
  • Encourage venues to make simple improvements that open doors for more people.

We’re starting with Pembrokeshire, but our vision is national. With time, we hope this grows into a trusted resource for people across the UK — while also highlighting the importance of accessibility for venues and communities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit a review?

Absolutely, visit our contact us page to submit a review of an accessible toilet in your area that you either love, or feel it has some room for improvement. Your review will be checked by us and listed as soon as possible to support other users.

Do you consider all accessibility needs or just those for wheelchair users?

Fantastic question. We know that accessible toilets will not always meet every need out there. We try to review the toilets from as many perspectives as possible. E.g. those with sight impairments, those with colostomy bags, users with neurodivergence and a range of physical restrictions.

Why are there no reviews from my county?

We are growing the BogBlog everyday. If there isn’t a review for your area we just haven’t ventured that far yet, or received a review from your county. Please complete a review via our contact us if you would like to contribute.

Is there an app I can use to view the reviews?

Not yet, watch this space. As our site and reviews grow we would love to add an app to make our service as user friendly as possible, we know many people surf the net from the loo, so it would be great if you could submit a review there and then.
