Welcome to The Accessible Bog Blog

Flushing out the truth about accessible toilets – one loo at a time. 🚽

We’ve seen some gold standard facilities – changing spaces loo in Mcarthur Glen Bridgend

Let’s be honest: finding a clean, accessible toilet when you need one shouldn’t feel like searching for buried treasure. But for disabled people, carers, and anyone managing mobility or health needs, it often does.

We’re here to change that.

I’m Fran (full time carer), and along with my partner Scott — who lives with significant mobility challenges — we’ve become reluctant experts in judging a toilet by more than just its flush. From missing red cords and awkwardly placed loo roll dispensers to “accessible” toilets that ‘don’t fit a wheelchair’… we’ve seen it all.

So we started this blog with one mission:

👉 To help others find genuinely accessible, safe, and dignified public toilets starting in Pembrokeshire, but watch out loos across the UK and beyond.

💩 What You’ll Find Here:

  • Honest reviews of public accessible toilets, mainly across Wales (for now!)
  • Marks out of 10 based on real experience, not guesswork
  • Photos & descriptions so you know what to expect before you go
  • Highlighting Changing Places facilities (and calling out the pretenders)
  • Light humour, because let’s face it — sometimes you’ve got to laugh or you’ll cry

🎯 Who This Blog Is For:

  • People with accessibility needs
  • Carers and family members
  • Anyone who just wants a reliable toilet without jumping through hoops

Whether you need a hoist, a turning circle, or just a loo where the alarm cord isn’t tied up like a party balloon — we’ve got your back(side).
